A pastel drawing done for a surrealism project in a studio class. I leafing through some photos I had taken of my dog, and found this one picture of a dead squirrel I had taken (for some very odd reason). At any rate, it was covered with these tiny ants, and I just thought, "Well, what if those ants were gigantic?" So I came back with an idea for that project, and decided to make a gigantic goat head instead of a squirrel. It's floating in space for a surreal quality, and the skull in the lower left is practically unnecessary, but I put it in as a "momento mori."
creepy; love the colours you've used... the ants kind of draw the eye of the view in and keep you looking around, giving it nice dynamics. i think the extra skull also helps add some balance, because the red ant adds weight to the right side and the skull brings some of it back over to the left. nice!

if a tree fell in the forest, would bush blame it on iraq?
I miss the days when ants could just crawl where they pleased. This work is a stunning testament to that time which is now forever lost.
